Molong Solar Farm – 30MVA 33/66kV substation

Connection to TransGrid’s Molong Substation and joint commissioning with the TNSP.

Approach:

TEC-C was selected to deliver the EPC works for the solar farm 30MVA 33/66kV substation, including the construction of a 1 km underground 66kV high voltage cable, connecting the solar farm substation to the TransGrid Molong Substation, and joint commissioning with TransGrid.

Previous involvement in the project, having established the detailed designs for the entire solar farm up to IFC drawing stage, allowed TEC-C to provide a very competitive and cost-effective offer, delivering in a reduced timeframe.

TEC-C established the site in February of 2020 and achieved practical completion within five months, undertaking civil works with specialised subcontractors local to the
area – meticulously managing and executing each detail of electrical works with in-house resources.

A prior relationship with TransGrid, having executed the connection and project agreements as part of the project’s development phase, allowed for a smoother joint commissioning process with TransGrid, which was seamlessly concluded without observations.
