Molong Solar Farm – additional 33kV harmonic filter bank

Further scope of work, won by an extremely cost-effective solution.

Approach:

TEC-C was selected to deliver the EPC works for a 33kV harmonic filter bank at Molong Solar Farm. This was an additional scope to the service provided on the EPC of the main project’s substation. A streamlined process and familiarity with the development allowed TEC-C to provide an extremely cost competitive solution with minimum interface risk and friction to the client.

Previous involvement with the EPC of the solar farm substation ideally placed TEC-C to deliver this additional scope of work, reducing overhead cost to the client and speeding up delivery.

The exact definition of the scope of this component was only possible after the project’s round one modelling had been completed, though early estimations were possible to have an approximate idea of what form the solution would take.

TEC-C used inhouse engineering skills and resources to generate the detailed design, accelerating the process and reducing costs.
