FOUR99 Portfolio – delivering utility grade solar infrastructure across NSW

Leading the development and funding of five new 4.9 MW capacity solar farms.

Approach:

TEC-C managed and led the development and funding for five solar farms across NSW, each 4.9 MW in capacity, from initial site identification and selection stage. The projects were sold, at different levels of progress, with the most advanced project having achieved DA approval and a preliminary offer to connect with approved steady-state and dynamic network modelling.

TEC-C was the first to identify the sub 5MW solar farm space as an attractive investment opportunity to connect under Chapter 5A of the National Electricity Rules and execute a portfolio development strategy.

The most notable and advanced of the developments was Langs Crossing Solar Farm, located in Hay, NSW, which obtained Development Application approval and completed advanced network studies, including approved steady-state, dynamic modelling and grid protection studies.

The other projects were planned sequentially to progress successively as their sibling projects continued to hit their milestones.

In January of 2021 TEC-C successfully sold the FOUR99 Portfolio to continue focusing on its core EPC business activities. However, TEC-C continues to engage in new strategic investments that require our development expertise.

Key features:

  • Site Identification of high-value solar farm candidate sites, including multi-variable site scoring parameters
  • Established key criteria metrics for each site including NSW state wide Marginal Loss Factor (MLF) forecasts and network constraint data to expedite the connection process and maximising ROI
  • Negotiated and obtained land exclusivity agreements for five different solar farm sites
  • Initiated Development Application process for the five sites, including completion of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), with concept designs for each
