Phillip Island Community Energy Storage System contract awarded to TEC-C by Mondo

EPC and Development

After a competitive tender process, Mondo, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AusNet Services, has awarded TEC-C the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to deliver a registered and fully scheduled 5MW/10MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), with the main objective to provide Network Support Services for the AusNet Services network on Phillip Island in Victoria. The Scope of Works, also includes responsibilities for obtaining the Development Application (DA) approval, as well as the network modelling to achieve Grid Connection approval, from the DNSP and AEMO.

TEC-C and Mondo will work closely with the local community stakeholders, including Totally Renewable Phillip Island and Energy Innovation Co-operative, to provide a solution aligned with community interests and values.

Working closely with the Country Fire Authority, special care is being taken to design and construct a resilient system, incorporating fire safety from a passive as well as active aspect, with state-of-the-art fire suppression, along with more battery stable chemistry.

TEC-C will deliver the full turn-key solution, from beginning to end of this innovative solution, leveraging on its experience and capabilities as an EPC company and a developer of decentralised energy assets.
